Presenting Data
When you did your experiment you collected information that now needs to be looked at critically. Figure out the best way to look at the information: average of the numbers, graph the numbers, etc.
If you would like help, the create a graph site can walk you through producing a very nice graph with your data. Other graph sites are from the National Council of Teachers for Math (NCTM): Bar Graphs, circle graphs, histograms. Graphs are usually the best visual way to present your information. Label your x and y axis, and be sure you have all three experiment trials presented.
Data analysis and Probability is also presented through the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives(NLVM) where they present the virtues of each method of data presentation for 3-5th graders.
